If you’ve ever been to a spa for a day of treatments, you’ll know how great you felt afterwards. Your mind and body are both treated to a truly indulgent experience. When you relax your body has a chance to get ride of toxins and bring its blood pressure down. They can however be a little expensive and given the current economy, treating yourself to a spa treatment at the local health spa may not be an option. It doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom though. You can recreate a tiny spa experience in your very own home for next to nothing. Here’s how -
Ambiance. Adjusting the mood in the room is the only way you’ll reach total relaxation. Light a good number of candles and scatter them around the room. Make sure you turn down any bright harsh lights. To ensure that you stay relaxed, set the temperature to a comfortable level. You should put some soothing music on and also use some form of scent. Smell is one of our key senses and by lighting some incense or using fragranced candles, it can really help to calm the soul.
Wash. The first action to take when starting a spa treatment is to wash the skin well. This takes away any dead surface skin cells and ensure that the top layer is clean. It is not necessary it be too overzealous of try to take too much skin off. Just using a simple cloth and warm water, wipe the skin down a couple of times.
Facial. You don’t have to always fork out lots of money for an expensive skin care facial. There are few ingredients you can find around the house that do a pretty good job themselves. Mix together honey, olive oil and the white of an egg, and then apply all over the face. The honey acts as an antiseptic, the egg white tones and conditions the skin and the olive oil moisturises. Make sure you wash off well and you’ll be left with all-natural glowing skin
